Stop thumbs downing good answers because you want your answer to look good without any downs
You earn points for thumbs up on a good answer, you get nothing for the thumbs down.
I give my source as the IRS and the phone number based on the fact that the infomation is from the IRS and what better source that the Federal Agency that administers the Tax Law.
The Phone number is provided so that if the question asker wants to verify the information that I or any one provides they have access to the number.
And 99% of my answers do provide a source or link to the topic from the IRS Website, some answers are common sense and do not require a link or a source.
